At the tender age of 14, he embarked on a musical odyssey with the Pavalar Brothers, immersing himself in the folk melodies of the region. His momentous entry into the world of cinema came in 1975 when producer Panchu Arunachalam recognized his prodigious talent, leading to the groundbreaking success of “Annakili” in 1976, directed by Bharathirajaa.

Additionally, his magnum opus, “Thiruvasagam in Symphony” (2006), stands as the first Indian oratorio, further cementing his status as a trailblazer in the realm of music.
