The Calgary International Film Festival, presented by connectFirst Credit Union, wrapped up its 23rd annual edition on Sunday October 2, and is excited to announce the Telus Audience Choice Award winners, which are based on the collective scores of audience ballots collected throughout the festival.
“The audience clearly responded to the diverse selections of films – from the witty and clever to the timely and challenging. It’s also great to see that over half of the feature Audience Choice Awards went to women filmmakers,” said Brian Owens, CIFF’s Artistic Director.
“We congratulate all of this year’s winners and want to thank our audience for making this festival such a success.”
“As a first-time sponsor we are thrilled to have been part of such an incredibly successful festival this year. We’re truly blown away by the calibre of talent displayed in all the films and we’re honoured to be able to bring this kind of world-class experience to the Calgary community and support local artists to help showcase their work on a global stage,” said Teri Buckley, connectFirst Credit Union Senior Vice President, Brand & Reputation.
