Spotlight on Sailing:
- Nethra Kumanan: A trailblazer in Indian sailing, Nethra is the first Indian woman sailor to qualify directly for the Olympics. Her direct entry into the Paris 2024 Games marks a significant milestone in Indian sailing history. Previously, she has represented India at the 2014 and 2018 Asian Games, with a notable fourth-place finish in 2018. Her qualification for Tokyo 2020 was also a landmark achievement.
- Vishnu Saravanan: An emerging star in Indian sailing, Vishnu secured India’s first quota for the Paris 2024 Olympics. After his participation in Tokyo 2020, Vishnu is expected to be a leading figure in his category. If selected, he will become only the second Indian sailor to compete in multiple Olympic Games, following Farokh Tarapore, who represented India in 1984, 1988, and 1992.
