The magic of the holidays returns to downtown Mississauga as Santa Claus comes to town for an unforgettable night of lights, music, and festive fun. On Saturday, November 22, from 4 to 8 p.m., Celebration Square will transform into a dazzling winter wonderland for the Light Up the Square and Santa Claus Parade, presented by TD—the city’s most enchanting tradition and the official kick-off to the holiday season.
This year promises more sparkle than ever, with a brand-new parade, glowing art installations, and a full lineup of live entertainment guaranteed to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
A Night of Magic and Merriment
The evening begins with Light Up the Square at 4 p.m., offering an array of family-friendly festivities and activities throughout the downtown core. Visitors can glide across Mississauga’s largest outdoor skating rink (weather permitting), capture the perfect holiday photo at one of several themed stations, and enjoy delicious eats from local food trucks.
The highlight of the evening arrives at 6 p.m., when the Santa Claus Parade marches through downtown streets, bringing festive cheer, colourful floats, and the much-anticipated arrival of Santa himself to light the city’s iconic Christmas tree.
