WestJet is charting new skies with an expansion of its long-standing codeshare partnership with Aeromexico, unlocking 10 new Mexican destinations and enhancing access for travellers on both sides of the continent. Announced July 2, 2025, the move underscores WestJet’s strategic push as Canada’s leading airline into Latin America, while reinforcing Aeromexico’s ambition to globally connect Mexico.
Effective immediately, Canadian travellers flying from WestJet’s network—particularly its hub in Calgary—can explore more than 30 destinations across Mexico with the ease of a single ticket and seamless baggage transfer. Highlights of the new destinations include cultural and coastal gems such as Oaxaca, Durango, and Puerto Escondido.
Meanwhile, Aeromexico guests flying north will benefit from expanded access to over 20 Canadian cities, including the additions of Comox, Cranbrook, and Nanaimo, along with the return of codeshare service to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
Executives from both airlines emphasized the mutual commitment to deepening connectivity and providing seamless travel options, reflecting a “shared vision” to better connect North American communities with purpose and partnership.
✈️ As demand for cross-border leisure and business travel continues to grow, this partnership expansion positions both airlines to meet that demand with renewed convenience and reach.
