The scintillating Ramlila performance by the Indian cultural troupe at the auspicious 6th Cycle Birthday celebrations of HM the King drew significant attention from both Thai and foreign visitors at the Royal Grounds of Sanam Luang in Bangkok. Ramlila, a traditional form of folk theatre in India, narrates the epic story of Ramayana through song, dance, and elaborate costumes. This performance not only showcased India’s rich cultural heritage but also underscored the enduring cultural ties between India and Thailand.

Sanam Luang, a historic and symbolic location in Bangkok, provided a fitting backdrop for this cultural extravaganza. The large audience in attendance enjoyed the vibrant portrayal of characters such as Lord Rama, Sita, Hanuman, and Ravana, characters central to the Ramayana’s narrative. The intricately choreographed dance sequences, melodious music, and the elaborate set design transported the spectators into the mythical world of ancient India.
