The 49th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival promises a cinematic feast with the unveiling of its 2024 Wavelengths and Classics programs. Celebrating visionary auteurs and legendary filmmakers, this year’s selections are a testament to global cinema’s diverse and dynamic storytelling. Presented by Rogers, TIFF 2024 will run from September 5–15, 2024.
Wavelengths 2024: A Celebration of Visionary Cinema
Highlighting groundbreaking work from international cinema and contemporary art, the Wavelengths program for 2024 offers a dynamic selection of 11 features, 3 shorts programs, and a special in-cinema looped presentation. This year’s lineup is intergenerational and regionally diverse, showcasing emerging talents alongside legendary filmmakers. From a two-minute animation to a gripping 14-hour documentary, the films in this year’s selection feature dazzling formal work, subversive narratives, and boldly political perspectives.
Curated by Senior Curator Andréa Picard and Associate Curator Jesse Cumming, with contributions by Giovanna Fulvi, Nataleah Hunter-Young, and June Kim, Wavelengths 2024 is set to captivate audiences with its visionary offerings.
