Toronto Elections began accepting applications for more than 15,000 temporary paid positions to help deliver the 2022 municipal election. This year, election day is Monday, October 24. Available positions include managing deputy returning officers, ballot officers, tabulator officers and customer service officers.
Anyone who is at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in Canada is encouraged to apply for a position through the Toronto Elections Jobs webpage.
People without access to the Internet or a computer and require assistance applying for an election position can call the recruitment line at 416-338-1111 and press 2, or TTY 416-338-0TTY (0889).
Successful applicants who work the election will hone their skills in customer service, problem solving, leadership and team work, while learning about how to run a fair and accessible election. Best efforts will be made to place applicants in their preferred position at a voting location closest to their identified home address.
