Bringing together two performers known for their varied and layered portrayals, Zee 5 Global’s
upcoming film Pooja Meri Jaan marks the first on-screen collaboration between Mrunal Thakur and
Huma Qureshi. The film brings the two actors together in a story that explores relationships,
rejection and how the same situation can be perceived differently by different people.
Mrunal steps into the titular role of Pooja, a young woman whose life takes an unexpected turn,
leaving her at the centre of accusations and public scrutiny, while Huma Qureshi essays Sana, a
lawyer who becomes closely connected to Pooja and finds herself navigating the complex situation
while trying to uncover the truth. With both characters approaching the unfolding situation from
their own perspectives, their first-time pairing adds an intriguing dynamic to the narrative, while
keeping audiences curious about where their journeys will lead.
Speaking about working with Huma, Mrunal Thakur shared, “One of the lovely things about this film
was the people I got to work with. Everyone brought such a different energy to sets, Huma is so
dynamic as an actress.” The collaboration brings together two actors with distinct screen
personalities, offering audiences an opportunity to see them share screen space for the first time.
With two distinct performers coming together for the first time, Pooja Meri Jaan offers audiences an
opportunity to see Mrunal and Huma in a new on-screen pairing. Directed by Navjot Gulati and
produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, Pooja Meri Jaan is set to
premiere globally on Zee 5 Global on 2 October 2026.
