Ring in the New Year with Toronto’s Waterfront Spectacle

This New Year’s Eve, Toronto invites residents and visitors to a dazzling celebration by the waterfront. With high-altitude fireworks, music, and vibrant pop-up performances, the city promises an unforgettable start to 2025.

At midnight, a stunning 10-minute fireworks display synchronized to music will illuminate Toronto’s inner harbour. As one of Canada’s largest shows, it guarantees breathtaking views from seven designated waterfront locations, including Sugar Beach Park, HTO Park, and Harbour Square. For those celebrating remotely, the event will be livestreamed.

The festivities kick off at 10 p.m., with pop-up performances that bring Toronto’s waterfront to life. Dance enthusiasts can join participatory sessions at Sherbourne Common, courtesy of The Dance Together Festival, while DJ sets energize Bathurst Quay Common. INCIRQUE performers will roam the area, adding whimsy, and the Canada Malting Silos will serve as a canvas for National Film Board short films.

The evening builds to a grand countdown at 11:45 p.m., led by Mayor Olivia Chow and drag entertainer Sanjina DaBish Queen. For those at home, the live webcast offers a front-row seat with discussions, performances, and accessibility features like ASL interpretation and closed captioning.

Whether braving the crisp winter air or tuning in from the comfort of home, Toronto’s waterfront celebration is the perfect way to welcome the year ahead.

“New Year’s Eve is a time to come together as a community and celebrate the hope and possibilities of the year ahead. Whether you’re joining us in person at the waterfront or watching the spectacular fireworks from home, I invite everyone to experience the magic of this unforgettable night as we welcome 2025 together.”

– Mayor Olivia Chow
