Janmashtami: A Celebration of Devotion and Divine Joy
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Janmashtami is a joyous festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, marked by centuries-old rituals and traditions that express deep devotion. Key customs include fasting, a midnight celebration symbolizing Krishna’s birth, and the Jhulan Seva swing ritual. The festival also features performances like Rasa Leela, the Dahi Handi event where teams break a pot of curd to celebrate Krishna’s playful nature, and the recitation of the Bhagavad Gita. Janmashtami fosters a spiritual connection with Krishna, as devotees honor his teachings through prayer, offerings, and acts of kindness.

The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu extends her greetings, and, in her message, she has said: –

“On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all my fellow citizens and Indians living abroad.

On the day of Janmashtami, we worship Bhagwan Shri Krishna. This festival of joy inspires us to dedicate ourselves to the divine ideals of Bhagwan Shri Krishna. Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, the dialogue between Shri Krishna and Arjuna is an eternal source of inspiration and enlightenment for entire humanity.

On this occasion, let us imbibe the teachings of Bhagwan Shri Krishna and resolve to work for the progress and prosperity of the country”

🌟 Happy Janmashtami! 🌟
May the blessings of Lord Krishna fill your life with love, joy, and prosperity. Celebrate this divine day with devotion and let the teachings of Krishna guide you always. 🕊️🎉 #Janmashtami #DivineJoy #KrishnaBlessings
