Fore! Swing into spring at one of Mississauga’s golf courses!

Mississauga’s City-owned golf courses, BraeBen and Lakeview, are gearing up to welcome golf enthusiasts of all levels as they open their fairways in April. BraeBen kicks off the season on April 5th, followed by Lakeview on April 10th, and BraeBen’s 9-hole academy on April 24th. These courses offer not just a game of golf but an opportunity to relish the outdoors, exercise, and socialize.

Golf isn’t just a sport confined to television screens; it’s an accessible activity that promotes physical activity, mental focus, and camaraderie. Whether you’re a seasoned player honing your skills or a newcomer eager to learn, golf offers something for everyone. Instructional classes are available for those seeking to refine their technique, including specialized programs for children and teenagers.

In a bid to manage the burgeoning demand for tee times, Mississauga residents enjoy a special perk for 2024: a 5% discount on green fees and priority booking, starting one hour earlier than non-residents. This exclusive benefit underscores the city’s commitment to its residents’ recreational needs. To avail themselves of this discount, residents need to update their profiles and present proof of residency at BraeBen or Lakeview Golf Course Pro Shops.

Both BraeBen and Lakeview courses boast unique features. BraeBen, nestled in the Heartland community, offers an 18-hole Championship Course alongside a 9-hole Par-3 Academy Course, catering to a diverse range of golfing preferences. Meanwhile, Lakeview, situated south of QEW, offers an idyllic 18-hole course that has witnessed significant moments in Canadian golfing history, having hosted two Canadian Opens.

Before embarking on a day of golfing, visitors are encouraged to bring their reusable water bottles, as the courses have transitioned to eco-friendly practices by eliminating plastic water bottle sales and providing water refilling stations. Additionally, both courses operate on a cashless basis, requiring patrons to carry debit or credit cards for transactions.

With spring heralding the arrival of golf season, now is the perfect time to gather friends, fine-tune your swing, and bask in the beauty of Mississauga’s greens. Secure your tee time today at mississauga.ca/golf and prepare for a memorable day on the links.
