Festival of South Asia 2025 Returns to Toronto with a Spectacular Weekend of Culture, Cuisine, and Community
Toronto’s Gerrard India Bazaar is set to come alive with colour, rhythm, and the irresistible aroma of spices as the 23rd annual Festival of South Asia returns on Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20th, 2025. Spanning Gerrard Street East between Coxwell Avenue and Glenside Avenue, this vibrant, two-day celebration promises an immersive experience that showcases the diversity and dynamism of South Asian culture.
Now a beloved summer tradition in the city, the festival has grown into one of North America’s largest street events dedicated to South Asian arts and culture. From 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM on both days, the bustling bazaar will transform into a sprawling stage and marketplace, offering unforgettable sights, sounds, and tastes—all with free admission.
🎉 A Celebration of Art, Music & Movement Multidisciplinary performances will take center stage, featuring classical dance troupes, contemporary fusion ensembles, and electrifying live music acts. Roaming performers, interactive installations, and visual art exhibits will ensure there’s something dazzling around every corner.
🍛 The Flavours of the Subcontinent Food lovers will be treated to a feast of South Asian cuisines—from sizzling tandoori skewers and aromatic biryanis to sweet jalebis and mango lassis. Local restaurants and street food vendors will line the boulevard, creating a culinary tour that rivals any international food fair.
🛍️ Culture and Community in the Heart of the Bazaar Festivalgoers can browse through the cultural market, featuring traditional clothing, artisanal goods, jewelry, handicrafts, and more. Kids’ activities and family-friendly zones will make the event welcoming for all generations, while workshops invite guests to learn everything from Bollywood dance steps to henna art.
💬 A Civic Tradition That Keeps Growing With support from the City of Toronto and sponsors like TD Bank, the festival continues to elevate the profile of Gerrard India Bazaar as a cultural landmark. It’s more than entertainment—it’s a celebration of Toronto’s multicultural identity, rooted in shared stories, entrepreneurial spirit, and vibrant heritage.
