It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s the Mississauga Comic Expo! The Mississauga Comic Expo (MCX) is back on Sunday, October 16 with a full day of in-person events that will have you crafting, playing and connecting with other comic book fans of all ages. Hosted by Mississauga Library, this free, family-friendly event celebrates the diverse culture of comics, gaming, art and more.
MCX is the perfect place to let out your inner artist. Enjoy the artist alley and exhibitors, build LEGO superheroes, paint your own Dungeons and Dragons miniature, express your creativity at the Post-it Note Art Gallery and drop in for all-day crafting. Families with younger children can also enjoy Superhero Storytime, a costume creation station and a children’s costume parade.
Is gaming more your style? Challenge your friends to new and retro board games, learn to play Dungeons and Dragons and show off your Nintendo skills.
Don’t miss out on meeting your comic heroes in person:
- Join a Character Design class with Meaghan Carter, who teaches Cartooning for Illustration at Max the Mutt College of Animation
- Hear Author Talks from critically-acclaimed cartoonist Scott Chantler and the dynamic comic-creating duo Jey Pawlik and Michelle Parker, also known as Topaz Comics
- Other special guests include comic artists Adam Gorham, Paris Alleyne, Joy San and Angela Poon
